Label is a functional part of a self-adhesive material, consisting of a face material and an adhesive. Most often it has a rectangular shape, but any shape can be cut.

Labels on sheets – self-adhesive labels on separate sheets of the required format (A3, A4, A5 or any others). These labels are usually used for printing with laser or inkjet printers. For more information please go to the category “Labels on A4 Sheets for Laser Printers”.

Laminate (Overlaminate) is a transparent material that is applied to the surface of the label for additional protection from harsh environmental conditions. The laminate helps preserve the label and provides additional durability.

Lamination (Overlaminating) is the application of a transparent film (laminate) upon an image to protect or improve quality.

The backing or “liner” is a part of self-adhesive label material or adhesive transfer tape. Can be made of paper or plastic. Protects the adhesive until it is applied to the surface for final use. Provides support for face material during the die cutting process. Allows to pull labels through the printer and applicator for peeling. Sometimes in double-sided adhesive tapes the carrier on which adhesive is applied on both sides is called so.
