RoHS

RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) Directive 2002/95/EC on the restriction of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. The RoHS Directive initially limited the use of six hazardous substances, including lead, mercury and cadmium. The RoHS Directive came into force on July 1, 2006. Directive 2011/65/EC (“RoHS 2” or “RoHS Recast”), which replaced the original Directive, allows for an update of the list of restricted chemicals and exemptions, and also aims to harmonize these restrictions with other regulations. EU, including REACH.
