lamination

Lamination (Overlaminating) is the application of a transparent film (laminate) upon an image to protect or improve quality.

liner

The backing or “liner” is a part of self-adhesive label material or adhesive transfer tape. Can be made of paper or plastic. Protects the adhesive until it is applied to the surface for final use. Provides support for face material during the die cutting process. Allows to pull labels through the printer and applicator for peeling. Sometimes in double-sided adhesive tapes the carrier on which adhesive is applied on both sides is called so.

master roll

Master roll or full roll is the name given to an uncut full-length roll of label material after the initial production stage.
